Backhoe Responsible for Death in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY

By Rheingold Giuffra Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman LLP

A backhoe driver hit a man outside his home and killed him. This is just another example of the dangers of heavy construction equipment being used with total disregard for neighboring pedestrians, which can result in severe injuries and deaths.

A backhoe is essentially a tractor with a heavy-duty, turbocharged diesel engine. The backhoe tool is designed to dig up matter such as earth or lift heavy loads. In this case, the backhoe was used to clear the snow in front of the residence in Brighton Beach and the driver recklessly and with total disregard hit the man who later died at Coney Hill Hospital.

Construction equipment is responsible for thousands of accidents and fatalities every year, both to innocent pedestrians, drivers and co-workers. If you or a loved one has been the victim of a construction accident, please contact the law firm of Rheingold Giuffra Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman LLP to fight for your rights to compensation.
