Thomas P. Giuffra inducted as “Advocate” to American Board of Trial Advocates

By Rheingold Giuffra Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman LLP

Rheingold Giuffra Ruffo Plotkin & Hellman LLP is proud to announce that partner, Thomas P. Giuffra was inducted as an “Advocate” to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) by the organization’s New York Chapter. The American Board of Trial Advocates is an organization composed of the top trial attorneys in the United States. Founded in 1958, ABOTA members are dedicated to preserving the constitutional vision of equal justice for all Americans and the preservation of our civil justice system, and in particular the right to trial by jury. Membership into the American Board of Trial Advocates is by invitation only following a rigorous nomination and approval by a majority vote of the existing membership. The organization seeks out attorneys who have displayed outstanding trial advocacy skills, civility and integrity. It is one of the highest honors that can be attained by a civil trial lawyer.

Tom’s induction as an “Advocate” is the highest rank for new members. In order to obtain this rank, Tom had to provide proof that he has acted as lead counsel in a minimum of fifty (50) jury trials to verdict. There are approximately 7,000 members of ABOTA in the United States. However, only 38 attorneys in New York have qualified for membership. Only 28 New York lawyers hold the “Advocate” rank. The firm is proud that Tom is one of them. More information on ABOTA can be found on the website at www.abota.org.
