This field of tort law provides remedies for consumers who have been injured through the use of products. All types of products are covered -- automobiles, machinery, drugs, chemical, household goods, and everything else.

While laws differ in the various states, the general approach is to hold a manufacturer liable for flaws in its products in a strict sense, that is even if they did not know about them or could not have discovered them. The law also generally imposes a duty on the manufacturer to give adequate warnings about risks connected with use of its product. Further, suppliers can be liable for defects in the very design of the product itself.
