C.R. BARD HID VAGINAL MESH FLAWS
Written By: Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo & Plotkin LLP
According to court records, C.R. Bard Inc. sold vaginal-mesh devices made of plastic that its manufacturers warned wasn't appropriate for human implantation. This incredible revelation will help our firm, and others from around the country, in litigation in various state and federal courts. Emails and documents further show that not only did Bard use the unsafe materials in its products, but Bard also tried to hide that information from both the supplier and patients who received the mesh. Several lawyers representing women in vaginal mesh cases said the files show officials knew the mesh wasn't proper but continued to hide their use of the material.
U.S District Judge Goodwin is overseeing 20,000 lawsuits against Bard, and other companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific Corp., Coloplast Corp., and Cook Medical Inc. alleging injuries from vaginal mesh implants.
