We all know the risks of riding roller coasters, from falling off of rides to obtaining gashes from exposed metals, but the ever-gentle swings? In early September at an amusement park at the Norwalk Oyster Festival in Connecticut, the swing-ride came to an abrupt stop, causing the riders on the swings to collide with one another.
In total 18 people were injured, majority were children and some as young as eight years old. Roller coaster accidents are not as rare as we think. Just this year there have been several accidents right here in NYC at the famous Coney Island Amusement Park. Despite inspections, these rides are still prone to malfunction, and when they do, horrible injuries are sustained by riders.
Our firm has investigated such cases in recent years. If you or someone you know has ever been involved in a coaster accident at an amusement park, please contact our office.
