In July of 2018, the FDA has announced that the blood pressure medications known as Valsartan, Losartan, and Irbesartan have been recalled due to the carcinogen N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) was found present in the product. In recent litigation it has been established that the foreign manufacturers of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), failed to disclose every ingredient and side effects. The manufacturers have fraudulently concealed information from the FDA for this drug to be passed. More blood pressure medication recalled: Company recalls 80 lots of valsartan over cancer concerns

The company known as Torrent Pharmaceuticals has recalled two of their blood pressure medications known as valsartan and losartan, due to the discovery of an impurity found within the ingredients. The ingredients found has above the acceptable levels of NDMA, prescribed by the FDA. This recall comes with a string of other medications related to valsartan, this recall also includes many other big pharmaceutical companies overseas. This recalled impurity is related to the medications made in Indian and Chinese factories due to the API that is contaminated in their manufacturing sites. Other manufactures include foreign companies such as, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., Hetero Drugs Ltd., and Mylan Laboratories.
