Senator James Doyle (D) is calling for a state investigation of a particular
hospital that had five of its facilities report that up to 2,000 of their
patients had gotten the
wrong medication
from them. A software problem was to blame, causing the patients to receive
their time-released medications improperly. Senator Doyle is demanding
a legislative review of the hospital's operator Lifespan to make sure
the problem isn't related to
hospital negligence.
