Arizona Sues McKesson Corp. Claiming It Artificially Inflated Drug Prices
Arizona has filed a suit against McKesson Corp., the largest U.S drug distributor, alleging they inflated drug prices for 400 medications. These drugs include: Allegra, Celebrex, Lipitor, Flonase, Azmacort, Coumadin, Flonase, Neurontin, Nexium, Prevacid and Valium. The inflation of prices has burdened Arizona consumers costing them millions. In one instance, McKesson allegedly marked up Nexium 5%, which brought them $100 million in profits. The civil suit claims violations of the Consumer Fraud Act and seeks $10,000 in civil penalties per violation.
