Toyota Agrees to Release Computer Code in SUA Cases
Written By: Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo & Plotkin LLP
Toyota has agreed to release its source code to attorneys in the class action suit involing Sudden Unintended Acceleration in Toyota vehicles. The source code is the top secret underlying software that runs the electronics in Toyota vehicles. Attorneys believe the problem causing SUA is in the electronics rather than the floormats/pedals and see this as a huge break in the case.
It will take a dozen experts months and over a million dollars to get through all of the source code to tell if there are flaws that could possibly be responsible for SUA. Plaintiffs are zeroing in on the throttle management and diagnostics system as causing SUA.
If you have experienced SUA in a Toyota vehicle call the attorneys at Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo & Plotkin LLP to speak with an experienced New Yorkproduct liability attorney.
