Colnago Bicycle Recall for Front Brake Defect
Written By: Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo & Plotkin LLP
After identifying a serious hazard, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission in conjunction with Health Canadians reported a recall issued by Colnago of all Colnago CF10 and Colnago V1-r racing bicycles and bicycle frame kits (which fit 28-inch wheels). It was discovered that while riding, the front brakes can detach from the fork. A detached front break poses obvious danger to a rider, especially when traveling at the high speeds these Colnago bikes were designed for.
Luckily, as of yet, there have been no reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the recall. Over 400 of the recalled bicycles have been sold in the US and Canada over the past year. If you have been injured due to a defective bicycle, the attorneys at Rheingold, Giuffra, Ruffo & Plotkin LLP are here to protect your rights.
