Pedestrian Struck by Car Receives Verdict of $260,000

Plaintiff was walking in Williamsbridge, crossing Bronxwood Avenue when he was hit by a car making a left turn from E 219th St. Defendant claimed it was not his car which hit the Plaintiff but another car which was also making a left turn. Both Plaintiff and Defendant agreed that Plaintiff was walking through the crosswalk at the time of the incident. A witness at the scene testified in accordance with Plaintiff's testimony.
Plaintiff claimed injuries to his knee, including a torn meniscus and sprained ligaments. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to correct his knee issues. He also alleged several back injuries including bulging discs and sciatica, which were treated through physical therapy.
The jury returned a verdict for the Plaintiff including $120,000 for pain and suffering as well as $140,000 for future pain and suffering.
